I'm drooling over that???

I have been DYING to share with you guys my newest treasure.. to some people it's a piece of junk...but to me

TO ME, it's one of those things that makes me SOOOO happy I could drool!  (I may have drooled a tiny bit already)

One of my friends saw it and said "You're drooling over that????" haha...and yes, yes I am.  Are you the kind that loves antiques like me?  If not, I'm sorry-this post will look like a piece of junk!  If so, you're gonna love what I'm about to show y'all. :)

So here's the story:

I am currently looking for a buffet/dresser/sofa table to put against a wall in our kitchen area. I have the itch to fix up a piece of furniture and so I decided that I need want something to re-do. That being said, I've been scouring good ol' Craigslist every day.  I haven't had any luck but I came across an ad from an antique store.  I decided to check it out and boy am I ever glad I did.

Y'all, this antique shop is 85,000 square feet.  NO, I didn't not mistype that.  I am SERIOUS!  I was like a kid in a candy shop walking through that place.  I spent about two hours there just looking at every single thing.

AND
this is what came back with me:

 {Just to clarify: we're talking about the antique window, not the coffee filter wreath..:) }
 TA DA!
Look at the wonderful chippy white paint and the EIGHT panes.  Those are hard to come by now-a-days.
I love the way it looks above our bed- let's hope and pray it doesn't fall on us in the middle of the night.  That would hurt, something awful.
It's kind of dirty, but it adds character, right?  I also love the coffee filter wreath I hung from a nail.  Looks so scrumptious and fluffy...
The antique dealer told me that it came from a home built in the early 1900's...and guess what else?

It was only $20!
That's a pretty great price if you ask me.
He's also got some old shutters he's going to sell me once he brings them to the shop.
AND I CANNOT WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON THEM!

So...whatcha think?  Am I crazy for buying an old window?

Too bad it's been RAINING like crazy here...the sun is nowhere to be found so the lighting in the pictures isn't the best..but I was SO excited to share with y'all so I couldn't wait for the sun.  He's not coming around this weekend at all says the weatherman.  :(

My wonderful sister-in-law is here and we're planning to go out to eat tonight and shopping tomorrow! Woohoo!

Hope y'all have a GREAT weekend!!!

Xoxo,

Kait

  2. What great finds -- the shop AND the window! What a beautiful room, too. I love how soothing the neutral tones are. Very restful.
