Winslow's Third Birthday Photos

When we were in Texas, we decided to take some photos of W with the big trucks and dump trucks, diggers, and steam rollers that were parked beside our house on the road. Since we were having him a Construction themed birthday party, I knew this was perfect to display around the house that day.  More on the party later this week!

Look how cute (and big!) my boy is.  I'm so lucky to be his momma.

Our trip to Texas

So earlier this month, the boys and I flew to Texas to visit family.  Seth did not get to go due to work, so I loaded up my crew and we flew to Dallas.  It was HARD traveling with two kids by myself, and I came back saying I'd not do it again, but I probably will.  ;)  The flight there was no fun, Hogan was upset (and by upset, I mean SCREAMING) 3/4 of the flight but he redeemed himself when he was awake and HAPPY the entire way back.

We had such a great time visiting my dad and stepmom, my grandmother, and other family and friends.  We went to the lake for a couple days, got to see my BFF since 4th grade and enjoyed life on the farm.

Winslow loved getting up at 6am and feeding the chickens (thank the Lord, I got to sleep in with Hogan every morning), he enjoyed swimming in the pool, and chasing the goats.  He really did have the time of his life.

We went to the lake for a couple days and it was his first time water tubing.  He loved it and even wanted to go faster!

He also caught his very first fish, all by himself!

What a wonderful time. We enjoyed every minute of it.

Hogan is SIX months!

HALF A YEAR OLD?

How in the world?

Seriously, it has gone by so fast, I don't know what to do with myself! I need to blog more to keep our memories stored, but Lordy, between both boys not sleeping well..I literally have no time or energy to write.

Hogan Graham is six months.

Weight: 18.5 pounds

Height: 28 inches

Nicknames: Hogan, baby brother, monkey, bunkey

Eating: Nursing every 2.5-3 hours during the day and 2-3 times at night.

Sleeping: Oh gosh. I've just accepted that this little man is not a good sleeper.  He wakes up, on average, four times at night.  Yes, it stinks, and YES i am tired.  He sometimes wakes up 6 and sometimes 3....last night was twice and I thought I had died and gone to heaven because I got 3.5 hours of sleep in a row.  For naps, he has just transitioned to two naps a day.  One around 10-10:30 and one around 2:30-3.  He sleeps at night from 7:45ish-7:45 in the morning.

Diapers: Doing cloth for the most part, with a few size three disposables here and there.

Clothing: He wears 6 months but I just pulled out the 9 month clothes.  ahhh!

Social: Such a happy boy.  Smiles all the time, very laid back, loves being held.  He laughs all the time at Winslow and has just started saying "mamamamamama"  YAY! His first word!

Likes: Being worn in my wrap, eating, his giraffe rattle, grabbing his feet, rolling everywhere, sitting up and chewing on EVERYTHING in sight.  He is a DROOL machine.

Dislikes: Still not a fan of riding in the car, hates pacifiers, doesn't like to sit in his highchair for extended periods of time.

What we're looking forward to: NOTHING.  LOL..i mean, doing nothing. August was the busiest month of the year for us, and we are content to just sit at home.  We made a trip to Texas for almost two weeks that I'll blog about next week, and then Seth flew to NC for a long weekend.  Then my mom visited and now we are laying low until mid September when we go to NC for a visit.

Do you see a similarity?  Are these two brothers?

Here is Winslow at six months:

Winslow is THREE.

How is this possible?  How has another year passed by?  Our little man, Winslow Prevost, is THREE today.

We were sitting at dinner last night thinking about what we were doing three years ago.  I believe I was walking 3+ miles after dinner trying to get him the heck out of my belly. He was 9 days late at that time.  Yeah, NOT FUN.

Man, I'm not going to lie, I am a little emotional about him turning 3.  I feel like he is SO grown up now and he proves it to me with his independence and his determination.  Terrible 2's were not horrible, but I have a feeling this next year he is going to give me a run for my money. ;)  He is talking a lot even though I am the translator for some of it ;)  and he loves to explain why he does things all the time.  Ex:  "We are rolling up the windows so the rain doesn't get in, right?"  or " We can't jump on the bed because we will fall off and go to the hospital, right mommy?"  He is so curious about everything and I love teaching him about our world.  Last night we were at the table and he said the prayer before dinner.  "Dear Jesus, thank you for God and Jesus and mommy and daddy and my happy birthday." It was so sweet.  He is so kind and snuggly.  Almost daily he asks me to sing to him and scratch his back.  The best thing about this year for him has been his transition to being a big brother.  I could not have asked for a better experience. He loves Hogan with all he has and helps me so much with him- if he is upset in the car, Winslow will say "It's okay, baby brother! I am right here!" or he will try to baby talk him like I do sometimes "Ahhh do do do do do do". Every morning we all cuddle in my bed and he buries Hogan in kisses and says" Did you sleep good, Hogan? I love you baby brother."  Man, my heart is bursting with love for this boy.

A couple of big changes are happening for him this next year. We are starting preschool in September,  and he is going to have to learn how to share his toys better once Hogan becomes mobile, which is SOON!  I am so grateful God allowed me to be his mom and I cannot wait to see how Winslow will change the world.  He is so smart and I can't help but think what he'll do in ten, twenty, thirty years.

We love you so much, Winslow.  Time for donuts and cupcakes!

A little highlight of W's year:  He wears a size 9 shoe and is about to be a size 10 in the next month or so, wears 3T shirts but can wear 24month or 2T shorts-his hiney is tiny! His favorite food is macaroni and cheese, yogurt, or watermelon.  His buddies are Cece,Colt, Eli and Ayla.  He usually gets up once at night and wants us to come lay down with him for a bit ;) , his favorite show is Paw Patrol or Mickey Mouse. He loves riding his tricycle outside and playing with his dump trucks.
