Grandparents!

My mom and stepdad are in town for the week!

We are having a wonderful time and love when they come and visit! Winslow is in heaven, we even got to go on a date night, and bedtime has been pushed back a little, which makes little man happy. ;)

We've gone to the beach and are planning a couple more fun things before they leave!  Be back soon!

Stitch Fix #13- I KEPT IT ALL

For the first time in over a year.. i kept every single item in my box!  I could not believe how spot on my stylist was with my requests and styles.  I've had the same stylist for every box except one and I feel like we should be soul sisters. ;)

Here's what I got in my box:

1. Margaret M Emer Textured Cropped Straight Leg Pant

I usually don't ask for pants in my boxes, because here in Florida the only season we get is HOT...but when these came, wow.  There is no zipper, no buttons and they are stretchy.  Just what I need.  #oldladystatus  But these are NOT old lady at all.  They have a gorgeous textured pattern and the color....OMG my favorite ever.   KEEP KEEP KEEP

2. Gilli Tom Maxi Dress

This was an absolute LOVE when i saw it in my box.  I love everything about it.  The pattern, the oh so soft fabric, and I can't turn down a Maxi.  Perfect for Florida.  KEEP

3. Loveappella Abella Maxi Dress

This was a little bit big on me, but since the waist cinched, it looked fine once I cinched it a lot.  I love the fabric and the pattern was fun.  There is a slit on each side which makes it super airy and cute! KEEP  *UPDATE* I ended up selling this dress because it really was too big for me. *

4. Fun2Fun Mia Crochet Lace Top

Not sure I would have picked this up on the rack, but I love it on.  Super cute and I am a suck for lace and hot pink.  KEEP

5. THML Emory Spaghetti Strap Top

I requested this top because I saw it on Pinterest and immediately fell in love.  Oh man, it did not disappoint.  The quality is great and it's perfect for our weather.  I love turquoise too.  KEEP

Yes! I kept it all! I wanted to personally drive to California so I could hug my stylist.  She is the bomb.   Want to try it?  Click here to fill out your style profile and sign up!  I'll get a small referral credit for you signing up. :)

Living in fear.

So it's been over 2 months since my miscarriage.  Some days it seems like yesterday that it happened, and some days it seems like 2 years ago.  I've been so lucky for the support shown to me through here, facebook, instagram, friends and family but it still doesn't take the sting completely away.

I am trying my hardest to not live in a state of constant fear. I have this ongoing mind game (or I really think I should call it the devil) telling me I'll never get pregnant again.  I'll never be able to experience the miracle of childbirth, or will never waddle around eating pickles and ice cream all day.  I'll never feel those little baby kicks in my stomach or hear the pitter patter of the little heartbeat.  I won't get to nurse a sleepy newborn.

I know all of those things are more than likely not true, and that 1 in 5 women have miscarriages for various reasons.  But my mind sometimes just won't shut off.  Everything I do have those thoughts, I have to just pray.  Pray that the Lord takes those thoughts from my head and hears the desires of my heart.

I am cherishing every single day with my 20 month old toddler who loves wearing cowboy boots, climbs on the kitchen table daily, and blows kisses to strangers.  He really is the apple of my eye.  Every night before I go to bed, I sneak in his room, take a photo of him sleeping, and pray over him.  One day I plan on sharing some of the photos.  He is such a cute little sleeper (and still sleeps 12 hours at night!)

Mr Jones and I have always said we felt called to adopt 1-2 children into our family, so we will be looking into that in the future too, but I still long to carry another child in my belly.  I know it will happen more than likely, but you can't exactly explain the worry/grief/sadness/uncertainty that goes along with a miscarriage unless you've experienced it yourself, unfortunately.

I am just relying on the Lord to provide me with peace and understanding.  He is still good through this all.

A dear friend sent me a book in the mail called "I Will Carry You" and it has been absolutely life-changing.  Angie Smith, the author, delivered her daughter and she only lived 2 hours. She has many life threatening issues.   Here is a small excerpt from her book:

"I believe that all babies who pass away are in heaven with the Lord.  I would be lying if I said that when I sit in my sewing room staring at her little dress, I am immediately filled with peace because I know where she is.  I am not.  I want her to be here with me, and on many nights that truth has failed to fill the void.  I have beaten myself up many times, wondering why I was moping around when she was perfectly happy.  What kind of Christian does that?

The answer is simple. One who is human.  We aren't going to feel whole in this life, and we will long for something we don't have.  Something that will fill the nagging void that intermittently stings and knocks us to our knees.  And all the while, Satan taunts us, telling us our faith is small.  To hurt so deeply is a sign that we live in a fallen world, not that we serve a small God.  To him Him in spite of our pain is a gift He freely gives to those who will accept it.  Daily I must remind myself that He is not threatened by my doubt nearly as much as He is glorified by my faith  We are vessels of hope, you and I, made in the image of Jesus, breathing in the world as we yearn for him."

I have never heard such words so true.

I am hugging my little boy tighter than ever and thanking God that I have this precious gift of motherhood.

just some thoughts.

Just a few thoughts for this lovely Thursday morning.

Florida life is great.  We love it. The weather (although I am already complaining about the heat and it's only April), the fun outdoor activities, the beach being 20 minutes away... it's awesome.  We see the beach at least once a week and there are tons of parks and splash pads for Winslow to enjoy.

We bought a bike trailer for Winslow to ride in and I was so excited.  The not-so-exciting part was the burn my thighs felt after just a couple miles #haventriddenabikeinyears #outofshape

Winslow loves playing peek a boo through his legs.  Cutest.thing.ever.

And lastly, I present the toddler selfies.  I think he has a bright future as a photographer.

The weekend is coming and we are planning a trip to a local state park to take a boat ride on some river that is supposed to have lots of gators...sounds fun, huh?

Happy Thursday, friends!

Stitch Fix #12

My year anniversary with Stitch Fix was this month! Whoo Hoo.  I can't believe it's been that long.  I still get so excited when I see that box on my front porch.  Here's my 12th box!

Daniel Rainn Nelly Embroidered V Neck Top

This was a very pretty top and I love the embroidered "tribal" look it has.  However it was a little too big for me and for almost $70, I didn't want to spend that on a white top.  RETURNED

Fun2Fun Sonoma Striped Sleeveless Top

This was a fun top. The back is longer than the front, and this "nautical" look is very in this summer.  I usually never pick out red for myself and since SF has always pushed my fashion limits, I decided to keep this one.  KEPT
Gilli Mitchel Maxi Dress

This dress was very comfortable and SOFT. The back had a criss cross "cut out" type thing that was very cute too!  I have no doubts that I would wear this often but I did not keep it just because I would have rather had a more colorful maxi.  RETURNED

Market and Spruce Lana Lace Detail V-Neck Blouse

I love lace. I also love black and white. So this was a win for me.  It was a little flowy, but I decided to make it work. KEPT :)

Dear John Lillie Short

See above^^  I am wearing those shorts with all of my tops.  I was not a fan.  WAY too big for me.  Like 2 sizes at least.  And honestly, the $20 Target ones I have work just as well. ;)  RETURNED

And there you have it! My 12th box.  I was happy with this one, but wished for more color.  For my next one, I asked for lots of feminine pieces and lots of color! Let's hope my awesome Stylist delivers!

W's new playroom!

Finally! Our 3rd bedroom is not stacked to the ceiling with boxes!  When Seth made plans for us to have company a LONG time ago, I knew it was time to get rid of the JUNK overtaking our spare bedroom.  This room was the catch all room until just recently.  When we moved in, we threw everything we didn't have room for in here.  and it was quite a bit of stuff.

We moved from a 2200 square foot home to just under 1200.  Yeah, it was hard. Especially when "hoarding" runs in my family ;)  Let's just say I have a use for everything and yes, I did pull a rocking chair out of my neighbors trash last week to repaint.

Since taking these photos, it has changed a little, but it's never going to be this clean again because it's Winslow's favorite room in the house and he feels the need to take EVERYTHING out of each cubby almost daily. So glad I can shut the door sometimes and forget about the mess)

Sadly, I looked through millions of photos to find a before pic...and could not find one even though I knew there were some taken. Oh well...just picture furniture, boxes, toys, and anything else you can think of stacked to the ceiling.  No really.

Yes, those are all of my cloth diapers on the top row.  And yes, I baby them.  yes, I have too many.  any more questions?
We didn't have anywhere to put this buffet, so I just filled it with toys.  :)  Well, the inside still has dishes and serving pieces.

The rainbow arrows and the camping/fox fabrics are my Tulas.  If you have a child and don't know what a Tula baby carrier is, look it up.  You're welcome.

Table was plain wood that I painted orange and green.  From IKEA for only $20.  Winslow LOVES it.

Pretty much live in here now.  We love it.  And since it's a small room (like 10X10) it's perfect for W.

Source List:

Cubbies and rug are from IKEA.

Such a bright and fun little place to play!

Easter 2015

Easter is one of my very favorite holidays.  To me, it means family, friends, good food, and new life. Life in Jesus.  Because he died on the cross and suffered a horrible death, we are able to live again!  It's such a beautiful day to remember that and I just always feel so blessed to celebrate.  This year, we had our dear friends come in from NC (our first visitors here in FL since we moved!)  and it was wonderful.

I'll had to do a whole seperate post on our time together but for now, enjoy the Easter photos!  A few were taken a couple weeks ago (the ones of Winslow in his bunny outfit), but the rest were taken this past weekend.

Little man opening his Easter basket.  He got an Elmo faucet cover, a new diaper, some bubbles, a couple books, and a little stuffed Elmo.

So thankful for the reason we celebrate Easter.  New life in Jesus Christ.
