DIY picture frame pedistal tutorial

Pedistal...who knew it was spelled like that?  I sure didn't.  I thought it was pedistool.   But the informative interwebs say differently.

Finally, a tutorial for you guys! I've pulled my hair out a zillion time trying to get this up and my pictures wouldn't load, the dog needed walking, the sun went down..blah blah blah.

But here it is!

DIY picture frame pedistal

 Here's what you'll need:
-Gorilla glue
-picture frame (I got mine from Goodwill for .99 cents each)
-brass candlestick
-spraypaint
 1. Dab a little bit of gorilla glue onto your candlestick. It doesn't take a whole lot because it'll expand when it dries.

2. Set the picture frame on top and make sure the frame is flushed with the front of the candlestick.  The frames I bought were skinnier than the width of the candlestick and so it'll look like this on the backside.  It may bother some of you because it looks kind of funky, but to me that side will never be seen so I didn't mind!

3. Go do some laundry, make some spaghetti, use the bathroom...whatever suits your fancy.

BE SURE TO LET IT DRY FOR A COUPLE HOURS.  

I got excited and messed with it after about 30 minutes and what happened?  It wasn't dry and it "broke".  So make sure you be patient!

 See?  That's the backside of the frame and candlestick.
But here is the front...looks perfect!


 I couldn't decide if they should be white or black..so I went back and sprayed one black...

Which is your favorite?  

I am planning on making some more.  This is a super easy way to dress up regular old picture frames! And you can get wild and crazy with the color! I may do a hot pink one to match my hot pink lamp!

    Cute! I've seen people make cake stands using plates and candlesticks, but never picture frames--will definitely have to keep my eyes out when I'm thrifting this weekend :)

    I love these!
    Just a quick thought - if you were to find two picture frames, there's probably enough room to make them double sided! You'd just never be able to change out the photo in the frame - so it depends on how much you love your photos ;)

    You could turn the frame around so the opening of the candle stick is visible, add a piece of wet foam and some ivy or hanging flowers so you don't see the hole at all.

    I made one out of 2 glass candlesticks glued together, top to top. I painted them royal blue, but sea glass effect. I glued the frame toward the middle back, a very large opening, I also used the sea glass effect in royal blue on the black frame. I placed a red and blue carnation, the tops only. It turned out to be a nice addition to my granddaughter's graduation table!
