Easter Baby

My Easter baby.  I love this little outfit.  I got it for him when I was around 30 weeks pregnant and it's been sitting in his closet patiently waiting to get some squishy baby legs in it.

Those rolls. I want to butter them up and eat them.

It's all over now!

No more putting W on the bed and running to go pee...no more trying to change the laundry while W sits peacefully on the floor.

We have a crawler.

He is into everything.  yes, everything.  Oh boy!!!

and he is GOOD at crawling too..he isn't that fast, but he's sturdy and solid.  And he loves finding the outlet covers (which I should have baby-proofed YESTERDAY), the edge of the stone fireplace (OUCH!) and love pulling up on the dresser knobs.  He's fascinated with them.

Can you believe he was pulling up on things before he was crawling?  And now he's crawling.

Where is my baby?

You know what else this means?

It's not over now..it's JUST getting started.  And I love watching him learn about the world around him.  He's so curious about everything.

Anatomy of a meltdown

What was life like before little W?  I seriously cannot remember what I used to do with all my time!  Besides walk up and down every single aisle in Target or sleep until 11am.. I can't seem to remember what else I did. ha!

Life around here keeps getting sweeter and sweeter.  We are in full blown spring mode...hoping to spend most of our days outside when we aren't battling the freakin' wasps that are swarming our porch.  UGH i hate those things.  I've killed like 10 or 12 in like two days.  I am loving the warmer weather though, and I planted my garden last weekend.  Maybe this year it will not rain as much and we will have some great produce.   All the rain killed most of the plants because they couldn't breathe!

ANYWAY,

Winslow thinks it is funny to have a full blown grown up hissy fit when it's time to get out of the bathtub lately.  He grins and talks and squeals in his adorable little bath towel and then the second it's time to put on PJ's and a diaper...his little world is ending.  Like arching his back exorcism screams..I didn't even know screams like this could come out of something so little.  So I try to hold his hips down on the changing table all the while, W is trying to grab the picture frames off the walls and the lamp and it takes me like 2 minutes just to get his diaper on.  Then the lotion I try to put on his little legs and arms might as well be spreadable fire ants because he continues to scream and meltdown straight to the floor.  After lotion time, it's time for his pajamas...whoever thought it was a good idea to invent the PJs that snap instead of  zip have NEVER had children.   Lord, for some reason the snaps never align and he is flailing around like a wet cat and then i have to resnap them because I missed a snap...can you tell this has happened before?

There's the anantomy of a meltdown..which happens almost nightly.  Other than that, he rarely cries.  I still consider myself lucky.  and i still consider him the best boy in the universe. :)

This boy is INTO everything and will not sit still for more than .5 seconds...see below:

He is ALMOST full blown crawling..he will crawl a few feet and then decide it's way easier to army crawl so he does that.  Hehe.. he is my boy and he is precious.  I love him.

7 things.

1.  It's past my bedtime.  and it's only 9:19pm.  I've been in bed since 8:45 and of course this freakin' computer made me stay up.  (Thanks Pinterest, Instagram and Lightroom)  I've been getting in bed no earlier than 11 every single night lately, and it SUCKS when W wakes up at 3-4 to eat...little does he know that night time feeding is about to go bye bye.  #wishmeluckplease

2.  We are going to a wedding this weekend.  Hubby is off Saturday (PRAISE THE LORD) and I bought Winslow the cutest outfit ever. Think:  Janie and Jack chambray beret, green chinos, white oxford, navy striped bow-tie... hello cutie.  Also,  I have a hot date Saturday morning.  With Starbucks and TARGET.  by MYSELF.  I shall walk every single aisle.  Multiple times.

3.  I am going to be rocking' a once piece this summer.  and I'm a-ok with it.  and it has polka dots and ruching.  What more could you want? It's from Polo Ralph Lauren.

4.  I need to branch out in how I style my hair...here is how I currently do it:  Straight  or in a boring pony tail...I will curl it once every blue moon, but I need some easy tutorials for THICK long hair.  Anyone got any?

5.  Winslow is at such a FUN age right now.  He's almost 8 months (GASP) and he is into everything already.  He can crawl/scoot backwards, pull up on things, scream with excitement all day long, and he just smiles at us nonstop.  When I walk in the door after I get off work, the second he sees me, he squeals.  It melts my heart into a gigantic puddle.  This boy is going to be crawling soon.  SOON.  Oh boy, am I in for it.

6.   I am already planning his first birthday.  WHAT.  Yeah, I'm crazy.  and you better believe it'll have a fox or two in it...I've made my pinterest boards private so no one can see them except me.  HA!  I know, I'm ridiculous.  I also want to order a custom cloth diaper for him to wear.  Does that make me extra crunchy?

7.  I sometimes wonder if I'll ever be able to sleep in without waking up ever again.  Is that bad of me to think that?  I mean, this morning after W woke up around 6:45, I nursed him (praying he would go back to sleep in our bed for at least 30 minutes..yeah, didn't happen) so Seth took him and let me sleep for another hour.  it was glorious.  But since we want more kiddos sooner rather than later, I'll pretty much always have babies in my life for the next several years...which I am so excited for and love the thought of it, but I really did take for granted those days I slept in until NOON when I was pregnant. ha!  I can bet $100 that won't happen when I get pregnant next time.  I'll have a toddler running into my bedroom when the sun comes up.  But I can't wait for those days either.  You can sleep when you're old, right? (Well, then you'll probably not be able to due to overactive bladder or something like that)

Goodnight!  Must.go.to.bed.

yes, he's eating my toe.  no, that's not sanitary.

When Grandma comes, baby gets spoiled.

My beautiful mom spent TEN whole days with us and man, do I miss her already.  She loved on my boy, bossed me around (in a good way), and cooked and cleaned! What more can you ask for?  And by bossing me around, I mean she helped me with some house projects and when I wanted to slack off, she gently encouraged me to get with the program. ha!

Take a look at our week together:

Painting the front porch!
She brought her little "runt dog" as I call her.  Little miss Rosie Pearl.  She's a MESS.

She loved to nuzzle in my shirt and sleep.  She's crazy.

We repainted the front porch and the front door.  It looks awesome now!

Isn't she GORGEOUS!

MISS YOU ALREADY!!!!

19 March 2014

7 months!

`
Weight: 20 pounds 10 ounces
Height: 29 inches

Nicknames: W, Win, Monkey, Little Fella, Little Bear

Eating: Two little teethies..and they like to bite me.  That's all I'm saying and it's NOT pleasant.  I need advice from other momma's on how to keep his little teeth from biting his momma.  ANYWAY, he loves food. This little boy can eat.  We've been doing a mix of baby led weaning and homemade purees and he likes everything except green peas.  It's more of a texture thing than anything because i can't get them smooth enough..but he loves sweet potatoes, carrots, pears, avocado, oatmeal, mangos, and we will start some mandarin oranges and other fruits soon!

Sleeping: Ahhh sleep...this little boy has a mind of his own.  He slept through the night twice last month and I thought I had died and gone to heaven.  Now, he loves waking up at 10:30 and 4am..the 10:30pm wake up is not so fun.  He is an UNHAPPY camper..nothing will settle him unless he gets mommy's milk.  The 4am one is just a little grunt here and there..with a squall or two but i'm REALLLLLLY hoping this 10:30 business goes away.  I can handle one early morning feeding...

Diapers: Cloth diapers.  And I just ordered him a HOT pink one.  I had to.  It was so cute.  :)

Clothing: 12 month clothes...squeezing him into 9 months sometimes but mostly he wears 12 month and I even put him in 12-18 month stuff and he sometimes fits in them.  Geez, we have a big boy on our hands.

Social:He can now clap..it's the cutest thing in the world.  He LOVES daddy in the mornings, and loves his momma and anyone else that will talk to him. He likes to make a motor boat sound and loves blowing bubbles.    he is always so happy and pleasant and he has a mind of his own.  If we take his toys away real quick he will let out a big disapproving squal.  Ha!  He is ALMOST crawling too.  he can scoot to where he needs to go and gets up on all fours occasionally.  He will be there soon.  I can't believe it.

Likes: Being tickled on his ribs, kisses under his neck,  bathtime, rolling around everywhere, pounding toys on the table, squishing Darla's head, standing up with assistance, chewing on his feet and hands and anything else he can get into his mouth, pulling momma's hair, Sophie the Giraffe

Dislikes
: changing clothes, getting out of the bath, sometimes naps, getting his diaper changed,

What we're looking forward to:  My mom is in town and she is loving him up.  It's wonderful.

Milestones/ things to remember: Clapping, sitting up really good,  eatings lot of different foods, loving his new bathtub,

We love you so much, Winslow!! You have so much personality and we cannot wait to watch you grow!

Look how big you've gotten!
